Addform Vive le Velo 2024

What a fantastic year Addform Vive le Velo team has had in 2024.

In the Time Trial scene, the team has had 18 open time trial wins along with 4 silver medals for Adam Duggleby in National Time Trial Championships, including the team time trial 2nd place with David Brearley and Jozsef Owen, plus an overall 3rd place in the best all-rounder time trial competition. Adam also won the British Cycling Yorkshire Time Trial Championship.
Neil Cleminshaw and Stuart Henderson earned their first ever open wins and John Brearley also contributed to the open wins for the team. There were many personal bests earned throughout the year for many of the team. Sophie Rotherham was the fastest female in a number of open TTs’.

Away from Time Trialling Al Griffin was on form taking many podium finishes in the mountain bike series, taking 2nd place in the National Series Expert category overall. Al Griffin finished the year becoming the Masters 30-35yr Mountain Bike Champion.

There were also some great results in National Road and Circuit race series with an 8th place finish in one round from Adam Duggleby in his birth town of Beverley.
Matty Leach has really improved this year and got his first big win at the Ilkley Support Circuit race, attacking late on and finishing solo. He also was awarded the best senior rider at a road race in Spain.

Damian Evington competed throughout the year in the BMCR road races, his main aim was to win a National championship age group race. He won the BMCR National Circuit race C age category and Richard Sharp was 2nd in the A Category.

Addform Vive le Velo rider Ben Watson competed at the Paris Paralympics, narrowly missing a medal by 1 second in the C3 Time Trial, he went on to compete at the Paracycling World Championships and went home with a Silver Medal in the C3 Road Race.

The team has also participated in other events such as Sportives, and social team rides. This has been great to involve all riders, even ones that were not so keen on the competitive aspect of cycling.

The team has been supported by Magnitude Finance, KS Services, DB Orthodontics and Principle Networks. This support has meant the team was able to ride in some of the best kit available from Velotec, which really contributed to the success of the team. Really big thanks to them for supporting a local Yorkshire Cycling Team! As always thanks to Vive le Velo bicycle shop in Ferriby for being a team partner and really helping out with equipment and some good deals for the riders.
