Meet the Coaches

Sophie Straw and Adam Duggleby

Adam Duggleby MBE

As a life long cyclist Adam has competed across many disciplines including track, time trials, road races and grass track as well as being a member of the GB Paracycling team as a tandem pilot.
He competed at the 2016 Rio Paralympics and won two golds and a bronze with Visually impaired partner Steve Bate and a Silver in 2021 at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Adam’s passion for cycling is predominantly for Time Trialling. He has competed across almost all distances and has won the 25,50,100,12hr CTT time trial national championships and has also finished 2nd in the 10 mile event. Adam has also competed in National road series events and gained top 10 places on a number of occasions in both circuit races and road races. On top of that Adam is a keen track rider and won the National Scratch race in 2012 and regularly competes and wins at the Manchester track league against GB Athletes.

Adam has coached riders for over 8 years. It started small and as coached riders improved, many more riders came forward to ask for coaching. He has completed the British Cycling Level 3 Road and Time Trials coaching course (highest level).

Sophie Duggleby

Sophie worked as a Physiologist for British Triathlon and British Cycling supporting the Olympic programme on a national level, predominantly supporting athletes in the Leeds centre. She has both a BSc and MRes in Sport and Exercise Science achieving First Class Honours and Distinction, respectively. Her MRes focused on heat acclimation protocols in Paralympic cyclists which she completed whilst working full time as a Physiologist for British Cycling. She is a keen amateur cyclist and regularly spends upwards of 12 hours a week riding on the Zwift platform!

As a Physiologist for British Cycling Sophie was responsible for the physiological testing across the entire Olympic and Paralympic World Class Programme. Then worked with British Triathlon, she spending time regularly testing athletes across all the disciplines of triathlon. Much of her time is also spent working with coaches, analysing training and inputting her thoughts and ideas on how to train more effectively.

She is a qualified ABCC coach and BASES accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist, coaching triathletes and cyclists with her deep breadth of knowledge from both sports. Sophie undertakes all the physiology testing for ADDFORM.

Matt Goodwin

Matt is an GB Age Group Duathlete, competitive time triallist, former powerlifter, and lifelong runner, passionate about helping others unlock their potential. As a Level 3 Personal Trainer with certifications in advanced nutrition and TrainingPeaks he will deliver smart, data-informed coaching tailored to your goals, lifestyle, and schedule.

Qualifications from British Triathlon and England Athletics, he combines scientific knowledge with real-world racing and training experience. Whether you’re aiming for a PB, building strength, or returning to fitness, providing flexible, personalised training that works around you.
